Surgery is mandatory in cases of frequent episodes of febrile tonsillitis, cessation of breathing during sleep, abscess formation around the tonsils, suspected malignant tumors of the tonsils; History of febrile seizure due to frequent tonsillitis, frequent fluid accumulations in the ear, frequent infections that cause growth and development retardation, tonsil cysts and stones are the conditions in which the patient will benefit greatly from the surgery.
